Good landlords deserve a gold standard.
OUR MISSION & VISION
At beth score, we believe ethical landlords deserve to be seen — and celebrated.
Too often, headlines and horror stories dominate the conversation about renting. But across the UK, there are landlords doing the right thing: maintaining safe homes, responding promptly, and treating tenants with dignity. Their efforts often go unnoticed — lumped in with the worst actors, with no real way to stand apart.
beth score changes that.
We’re building the UK’s first landlord and property scoring platform to make ethical renting visible, measurable, and valued. Our mission is to elevate great landlordship, not just by calling out what’s wrong, but by highlighting what’s right.
This is more than a review site. It’s a movement to reshape how we think about responsibility in renting. By recognising and rewarding the landlords who create quality, safe, and respectful living spaces, we’re raising the standard for everyone.
Why now?
Nearly 1 in 2 renters report rent increases since 2023.
Over 58% say they've had a negative experience with a landlord.
Regulation is lagging — the Renters Reform Bill remains stalled, and tenants are left unprotected.
Landlords, too, are asking for clear standards and a way to prove they’re doing the right thing.
Our vision is a UK rental market where:
Tenants choose homes with confidence
Landlords are proud to be ethical
Communities are shaped by trust, not fear
We believe what gets celebrated gets repeated. And it’s time we shine a light on those doing housing well.

OUR FOUNDER
Ama Owusu-Sekyere grew up believing a rented flat could still feel like home until the pandemic laid bare how fragile that ideal can be. Social-media activists such as Kwajo Tweneboa shared mould-infested rooms and leaking ceilings, sparking a national conversation about dignity in housing.
With a career in sustainability and supply-chain transformation, Ama knew that what gets measured gets improved. She founded beth score, (meaning “house of”) to bring the same rigour to renting. Ama leads beth score with a commitment to fairness, innovation, and inclusive design and is currently building a strong advisory ecosystem to guide its next phase of growth.
“A tenancy agreement shouldn’t cancel the word home,” she says. “Landlords who steward property with care deserve a badge of honour, and renters deserve to find them easily.”
Ama’s passion is anchored in three beliefs:
Transparency fuels trust. Data empowers tenants and differentiates good landlords.
Home is a human need, not a luxury. Renting is an experience. It must feel stable, safe and respectful.
Change is communal. By lifting the best, we pull the whole market upward.
Join Ama and the growing beth score community as we turn these beliefs into an everyday reality, one scored property, one fair tenancy, one dignified “house of” at a time.
